D*na Festival will pay tribute to the countryside and its people

Quique Dacosta: “In a complex moment for the viability of the countryside, this is the D*na Festival's humble way of honoring it, through cooking.”

The seventh edition of the festival will bring together renowned chefs, producers and restaurateurs on September 28 and 29, on the Marineta Cassiana promenade in Dénia (Alicante).

Valencia, June 3, 2023. D*na Festival confirms the celebration of its seventh edition. On September 28 and 29, the Alicante city of Dénia will once again become the epicenter of Mediterranean cuisine with the arrival of this long-awaited gastronomic event. Organized by the Dénia Ciutat Creativa de la Gastronomía Foundation and curated by the three Michelin star chef, Quique Dacosta, this popular event will once again bring together renowned chefs, producers and restaurateurs in an event suitable for all audiences.

D*na will continue to look out over the sea from its privileged location on the Paseo de la Marineta Cassiana, but this time it will do so with its eyes focused on the countryside, the orchard and its people, who this year will become undisputed protagonists. As Quique Dacosta explains, “we are living in a particularly complex moment for the economic sustainability and viability of the countryside at all levels and this is D*na Festival's humble way of paying tribute to the countryside and its people. And we do it as we know how, from the kitchen.” Thus, the participants, both chefs, restaurateurs and producers, will come together in a culinary tribute to the authentic flavors of the land, especially the famous orchards of this Mediterranean region, celebrating the diversity and quality of local products.

With the firm intention of continuing to discover new culinary horizons, the festival will once again bring together award-winning chefs who, together with young national promises, will bring haute cuisine to the visitors present. For their part, local producers and restaurateurs will continue to be exceptional ambassadors of Mediterranean gastronomy through their stalls selling and tasting local products arranged along the promenade.

Participation in this edition of D*na will be open to all hospitality establishments in the Marina Alta. Each of them will be able to participate with a minimum of two tapas based on garden products and made mainly with raw materials representative of the gastronomy of Dénia and its region. Producers and artisans who are dedicated to the sale of food products, wines and spirits from the Valencian Community will also be able to take part in this great gastronomic festival. All of them will be able to formalize their registration, until July 16, 2024, and the festival rules can be downloaded on the website www.dnafestivaldenia.com.

Conceived as an open-air auditorium where you can learn while discovering new flavors and culinary sensations, after six editions, D*na Festival has positioned itself as one of the most recognized gastronomic events nationwide. In constant evolution, the festival continues to grow and expand its programming and activities, with the aim of making attending the event an experience that serves as a place of meeting, dissemination, reflection and enjoyment. Thus, in addition to the varied gastronomic offer throughout the festival route and presentations on current trends in the sector accompanied by live showcookings, D*na will offer a wide range of workshops for adults and children led by renowned chefs. , in which the local product will become the undisputed protagonist.

D*na Festival is organized by the Fundación Dénia Ciudad Creativa de la Gastronomía (integrated by the City Council of Dénia, CEDMA, AEHTMA and Baleària), in collaboration with the City Council of Dénia itself, with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, with the Provincial Tourism Board Costa Blanca as institutional collaborator and with three Michelin star chef, Quique Dacosta, as gastronomic curator. The seventh edition of this festival consolidates it as one of the great gastronomic events of our country and positions the city of Dénia - which in 2015 was named Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO - as the gastronomic capital of the Mediterranean.
